The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with YouTube, promising an unprecedented level of global accessibility for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. This historic partnership aims to make Paris 2024 the most inclusive and widely viewed Paralympics ever.

From August 28 to September 8, the Paralympics YouTube channel will offer a comprehensive array of content, including nearly 1,400 hours of live coverage across all 22 Paralympic sports. Fans worldwide will enjoy uninterrupted live streams, replays, highlights, and unique creator content, all available free of charge in 175 markets and territories.

Innovative Features for Enhanced Viewing

A standout feature of this coverage is YouTube’s introduction of the Multiview player on a global scale. This cutting-edge tool allows viewers to watch up to four simultaneous streams, providing a dynamic and personalized viewing experience.

Additionally, the Paralympics YouTube channel will feature daily clips of every race, match, and contest—totaling over 1,200 clips—ensuring that fans can catch up on all the action conveniently. These clips will be prominently displayed with “Official Cards,” making it easy for viewers to find and enjoy the content they missed.

IPC and YouTube Presenting Engaging Content Beyond Live Streams

In a bid to enrich the viewing experience, the IPC will also produce nearly 400 YouTube Shorts, capturing memorable moments and athlete highlights throughout the Games. Additionally, up to 40 feature films will spotlight individual athletes, providing personal insights and stories.

A noteworthy addition to the content lineup is the “Rising Phoenix: Road to Tokyo” series, which follows 12 elite Para athletes from 11 countries. This three-part series, created by the Emmy Award-winning Harder Than You Think, will delve into the journeys of these remarkable athletes as they prepare for the Paralympic stage.

Educational and Inspirational Films

To further engage and educate audiences, the IPC has produced several films, including:

– Paris 2024 Sport Explainers: 90-second animated guides to each of the 22 Paralympic sports, created in partnership with Allianz.

– Crafting Champions: Insights into the preparations of 22 top Para athletes for Paris 2024.

– Game Changers: Short films highlighting Para athletes who have significantly impacted their sports.

– #ChangeStartsWithSport: Stories showcasing the transformative effect of Paralympic sports on athletes’ lives.

– Ones to Watch: Spotlight films on emerging stars in each sport.
