A woman from the US who moved to India shared 10 reasons her life has changed since then. Content creator Kristen Fischer posted a video on her Instagram titled “10 Ways My Life Has Changed Since Coming to India,” which has nearly 2 million views.

“My life has changed many ways since coming to India. It definitely took an adjustment time coming here, but now I love my life in India and wouldn’t have it any other way,” Fischer claimed in her post as she listened to 10 points and provided detailed explanations.

  1. Kristen Fischer announced that “I became vegetarian,” and added, “Indian way of eating is better, and that includes being vegetarian. Between the animal cruelty and the health benefits, eating veg is a no-brainer for us.”
  2. She has started wearing Indian clothes because they are,  “always made from lightweight cotton that are great for the hot weather here. I pretty much wear kurtas every day and love it.”
  3. She finds that taking public transportation is very convenient “Delhi has some of the best public transport options in the world! In the US, our public transport is lacking and if you want to go anywhere, you pretty much need to own a car,” she said.
  4.  Fischer knows that tea is an integral part of India’s culture and it did not take her ong to adapt to that. “Chai is now a regular part of my daily routine, thanks to India. It is probably my favorite part of the day and reminds me to take a break and enjoy,” she continued.
  5. As of now Kristen Fischer sends her kids to Indian private school in the US it would not have been possible since it is, “too expensive and the quality of education is not much different. But in India, the private schools are great and will set up my kids for success.”
  6. In fact, Fischer has begun eating by hand and finds it enjoyable. “In the beginning, eating with my hands was messy and awkward. Now, I actually prefer to eat with hands and even think food tastes better this way,” she added.
  7. After her big move to India, she has learnt Hindi. “One obvious change I made coming to India was learning and using a new language regularly. It is very difficult to live in Delhi without being fluent in Hindi. It was hard work, but I am so proud that I was able to learn and speak Hindi,” Fischer said.
  8. Fischer claimed that she had to pick up a few home tasks in India in contrast to America. “In America, we have conveniences like dishwashers, dryers, garbage disposals, and Roombas. I have had to learn to do a lot of these household chores in a whole new way, without machines,”
  9. She is obviously familiar with the options that Indian food has. “Food in America typically revolves around being quick, easy, and convenient. But in India, food is more whole food, healthy, fresh, and homemade. I have learned to make so many things that I used to buy frozen or pre-made in America,” she stated.
  10. Kristen Fischer concluded by saying, “At first, I was reluctant to use the toilet sprayer, but now I am never going back. It is cleaner, easier, and just overall better. It is definitely something done right in India.”

Kristen Fischer’s big shift to India has changed her life. She has adjusted to the changes India has brought to her life, from studying Hindi to switching to a vegetarian diet. She has also found happiness in these changes. Fischer’s story, which has garnered almost 2 million views on her video, resonates with many. It shows how stepping outside one’s comfort zone can lead to a better and more fulfilling life.
